DO YOU HAVE A "FAMILY TIME" IN YOUR SCHEDULE?

This is the story of a happy but sad couple. Happy because there was no dearth of money. Sad because there was dearth of communication. The husband, always being over-loaded with work never had the time for his wife, who was suffering from a serious disease. Every day she longed to share a good time with him but, that never happened. Once a week, to compensate for his absence, he used to give expensive gifts to her and that's it! Soon, the wife was living her last days. She still hoped and waited but, still her partner was busy in bringing home the bacon which seemed more important to him. He did not realise what his wife actually wanted was his TIME and his PRESENCE not his gifts which were lying unopened! Now when she is no more, he regrets not spending time with her and lend a listening ear to all those thoughts and feelings that she wanted to share.

Do you find this story relatable? We have so busy schedules that we find it difficult to fit "family time" in it. In our priority list, work precedes our family. And to cover our mistakes,we have hell lot of excuses and sometimes a gift to cheer them up. But, all this is a temporary relief from their pain. Every night your wife, your mother, your children or your father go to sleep with their thoughts bottled up. They eagerly wait for you to return from work. They have so many things to tell you, to share with you but, all they do is wait, wait and wait.

Do not ever compare your presents with your presence. The latter is the most precious gift you could ever give to your family. Materialistic things will never help to make the threads of relationships stronger. Take a break and save at least one hour of your day for your loved ones. They will be with you, holding your hand till the end of your journey. Value them. Respect their love for you and feel grateful that you have someone who loves you the way you are. The world outside your home is fake- filled with people who love you for their own selfish reasons. Your family is the world of real people who love you even when there is no reason. When you will be knocked down by life and when the world will turn its back against you, you will find your family by your side, lifting your spirits. When you will wander away from the right path, your family will show you the direction.

Go on a long drive, have a hard laugh with them or have one meal together because in the end we just regret the time we never spent with our family and wish to have the conversations we never had.
